Preview

The Preview tab renders the survey exactly as a participant would see it. Use it to check the layout, question flow, and conditional logic before creating a publication.

Click Preview in the survey editor’s left navigation. The survey is displayed in its participant-facing format, starting from the beginning.

Preview reflects the current state of the survey in the editor. It includes:

  • The survey title and welcome message (if configured to show)
  • All question groups and their descriptions
  • All questions with their configured type, text, and answer options
  • Conditional visibility rules: questions and groups that are hidden by a condition will not appear unless the condition is met

You can navigate through the survey and select answers as a participant would. This is useful for checking that conditional logic behaves as expected: answer a question and confirm that dependent questions appear or disappear correctly.

No responses are recorded during Preview. Submitting the survey in Preview mode does not create a response entry.

If the survey is configured with multiple languages, a language selector is available in Preview. Use it to switch between languages and verify that all question text and answer option labels have been translated correctly. Content that has not been translated will fall back to the default language.

Preview always shows the current editing state; changes made in the editor are applied immediately when switching back to Preview. It does not simulate participant-specific settings such as token validation or access restrictions.

Once you are satisfied with the survey content and flow, click the Publish button in the editor tab to make the survey available to participants.
